Breakfast, home-cooked meal, home-baked cake, evening meal. Fresh fruit, drinks and a lunchbox to take away. Monday to Friday, every week of the year.
At Unterschlupf, we come together, affected and supporting women*, and spend the day together.
We make this place of solidarity possible for a marginalized group of society that is particularly affected by discrimination - women* who are homeless. Through care and solidarity, this place reduces isolation and can empower both those affected and those who support them. We are a network of those affected, volunteers and private donors.
The women* are life artists* who master the present despite their experiences.
Unterschlupf is a place where they can feel safe. A place of retreat and relaxation. Peace and quiet after often exhausting nights.
A familiar environment where women* can meet their needs for hygiene, showers and laundry.
Warmth, not only in winter.
In Kreuzberg, many women* live on the streets and, despite their presence, do not experience the necessary visibility and care. Women* need spaces to exchange ideas, to experience security and positive experiences in the community and to strengthen their self-confidence.
Since November 2023, Unterschlupf in Kreuzberg has been open five days a week for ten hours. Our opening hours have increased from 30 hours a week to 50 hours in one fell swoop!
We can no longer do this without your help.
We have extended our opening hours so much that we can seamlessly connect to the emergency overnight stays.
The women* can have breakfast with us from 8 am. Lunch is served at 1 pm, cake at 3 pm and dinner at 5 pm. The food is home-cooked and home-baked and delicious.
The women* are housed safely and warmly during the day.
We urgently need financial support to keep Unterschlupf running.
For example:
A mini-job gives us a secure structure and brings peace of mind to our project.
Since 2024, mini-jobs have been paid 538 Euros per month. For the association as an employer, social security contributions of 30% are added, so a mini-job costs €700 per month.
One hour of mini-job costs us around €17.50. Every hour helps.
