Datenburg e.V. in Bonn is looking for its own premises to rent

Datenburg e.V. is a non-profit association in Bonn and is now looking for its own premises for projects and skill shares.
So far, we have been meeting in the AlteVHS premises.
The Datenburg sees itself as an open space where people interested in science, technology or digital art (and many other areas) can meet and exchange ideas. We are committed to promoting general education in the technical field, as well as the topics of hacker culture (such as free software/open source, free hardware or net politics). Typical activities are therefore do-it-yourself sessions and workshops, public relations through presentations, demonstrations and talks, social activities such as sharing knowledge and learning together.
Description of the project:
The "Datenburg" hackspace will be a place focused on promoting technological understanding, DIY culture and creative IT projects. Here, people of all ages can develop their skills in areas such as electronics, programming, 3D printing, robotics and more.
Implementation plan:
- Premises: A start-up budget is required for renting premises, especially for the expected rental deposit.
The rooms will be designed in such a way that they can be used flexibly and meet the needs of the various activities.  There is already an offer to rent suitable premises in a central location. The estimated warm rent there would be approx. 870 € for 58 m², plus two months' rent deposit.

- Equipment: We need basic equipment for the rooms to be rented along with the purchase of technology, e.g. 3D printers, a projector for lectures, tools, soldering stations, materials and furniture to equip the hackspace with the necessary resources and make it an inviting space.

- Events and workshops: We plan to offer regular events, workshops and training courses that are open to all interested parties and offer a low-threshold introduction to current digitalization topics (security, artificial intelligence and data protection in everyday life). Cooperation with schools and institutions like VHS is expressly planned.
