About this project

Maren Handwerk from KUNE e.V. is responsible for this project
In Kasakunda, Gambia (West Africa), pregnant women can be examined by a midwife once a month. As there is no building in which the examinations can take place, they are usually carried out in the open air. As a result, hygiene protection measures cannot be adequately observed and privacy can hardly be protected.
With your donations, we would like to create a space that allows these screenings to take place in a quiet and hygienic environment. For this purpose, an old empty mosque will be converted by local craftsmen.
After the start has been made, the roof and walls need to be renovated. In order to finance the equipment required for the renovation as well as materials for the midwife, we are collecting donations with this project.
