About this project

S. Bellinghausen from r0g_agency for open culture gGmbH is responsible for this project
In many low-income communities in Ghana, lack of access to affordable menstrual products and education compromises the health and dignity of girls and women. This problem is known as period poverty, and it is a silent struggle that affects millions in many parts of the world. A frequent result of this menstrual insufficiency is that girls are unable to go to school regularly and drop out of school altogether.

Wedam Kadoa Rhoda, a passionate menstrual hygiene advocate has dedicated herself to breaking the silence surrounding menstruation and educating young girls about menstrual health in her Ghanaian community. Rhoda has authored a book titled "No More Suffering in Silence." This illustrated guide explains menstruation in an easy-to-understand way for students. It combines cultural, practical, and medical guidance with real-life stories to provide a comprehensive resource for young girls.

We aim to print and distribute 10.000 copies of "No More Suffering in Silence" to schoolgirls in need. We need your support to make this vision a reality. Your donation will go directly towards printing and distributing the books to schools in low-income communities. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us reach our goal and ensure that no girl has to suffer in silence.

Rhoda is also the founder of the Song_Ba Empowerment Center in Tamale, Ghana.
