Help for raped women in the “One Stop Center” shelter
One-stop centers have been established to provide coordinated and integrated services to destitute women survivors of gender-based violence to enable them to re-enter society and earn their own living. The "One Stop Center" offers free medical care, case management, legal assistance, psychosocial support and professional training in a sheltered location. These houses in the cities of Mekelle and Adigrat enable those affected to stay for two months.
To continue the work of the One Stop Centers, donations are needed to finance the basic needs of the women during their stay there. This includes their food, house rent and a starter pack when they are released.
Due to a lack of government funding and the women's poverty, they can only be admitted to the One Stop Center if sufficient donations arrive from abroad.
The German development aid organization Etiopia-Witten e.V. is collecting donations so that help can be brought to these women who have suffered endless hardship.
