About this project

Matthias Franz from Förderverein der Bergstadt St. Andreasberg e.V. is responsible for this project
We are committed to reforesting deforested areas along John-Kothe-Weg on Glockenberg in St. Andreasberg. We are planting large quantities of beech, sycamore maple, pine, and Douglas fir. Afterwards, we protect the young plants in various ways, replant as needed, clean and weed around the young trees.

On specific planting days, volunteers are invited to carry out the planting in designated sections under professional guidance.

We began planting in October 2024 and have already planted 8,250 trees on areas of the St. Andreasberg municipal forest. Further planting events will take place in April and October 2025, and will continue annually in spring and autumn on a permanent basis.

Donations will be used to purchase seedlings, planting protection materials (tree guards, planting stakes, and browsing protection), as well as signs and markings.
