    About this project

Susanne Birkeneder from Technische Universität München is responsible for this project
What is the Matching Challenge and how does it work?

Following the remarkable successes of the past three years, Talente Spenden and TUM have once again joined forces to take on the Matching Challenge 2025.

Our goal: to collect at least €10,000 for new German scholarships within six weeks - by March 10, 2025. If we succeed, every euro donated will be multiplied twelvefold.

Wondering how? Five co-donors - Anneliese Pfannenberg Foundation, Friends of TUM, Alexander Tutsek Foundation and TUM Honorary Senators Dr. Farhad Farassat and Prithwis Basu - have agreed to match our donation target with €10,000 each. According to the principle of the Deutschlandstipendium, this amount will be doubled again. This results in a total sum of at least €120,000 - enough to support 33 students financially and ideally with a TUM Deutschlandstipendium.

The Matching Challenge presents an excellent opportunity to achieve maximum funding with minimal effort. Let’s take advantage of this chance and show the co-donors how strong the solidarity within the Deutschlandstipendium network is!

    When can I donate?

The Matching Challenge 2025 will run from January 27 to March 10, 2025.

What is the principle of the Deutschlandstipendium?

The Deutschlandstipendium is a government-funded program aimed at supporting students.

    • Each scholarship recipient receives €300 per month.
    • This amount is split evenly, with half provided by a private sponsor and the other half by the federal government.
Through the Matching Challenge, we have the opportunity to significantly increase the funding and support even more ambitious talents.

What happens if we lose the matching challenge?

If we do not reach the €10,000 target, the collected donations will still be doubled by the government.
However, in this case, the matching by the co-donors will not take place.

Who can I contact if I have any questions about the Matching Challenge?

If you have any questions, please contact us at deutschlandstipendium@tum.de.

How successful has the Matching Challenge been in the past?

The last three Matching Challenges were a great success, as the donation goals were not only met but consistently exceeded! A total of 55 scholarships have been funded solely through donations from the TUM Matching Challenge.

For this reason, we are confident about the Matching Challenge 2025 and firmly believe that together, we can achieve great things once again!
