The Klaa Pariser street carnival was born in 1839. The community gave the citizens of Heddernheim a public fountain, as up until then only draw wells were available. The citizens were so happy about this donation that, thanks to two traveling boys who had already experienced the Mainz carnival in 1838, a folk festival was held in Heddernheim and a replica of the fountain was paraded through Heddernheim with music and joy. Thus the first 'Klaa Pariser Fastnachtszug' as a carnival procession was born, which is considered to be the oldest carnival procession in the German State of Hessen. This carnival procession has to be organized every year again on the basis of donations and you can become part of this donor community.
