In the Yazidi village of Sina near Sharya (Duhok district, Kurdistan-Iraq), we have been running an initial small project with greenhouses for two years to help families. They can use them to build a livelihood and a secure future. We were able to help four families in the test project and the positive experience motivates us to help the other 120 families as well.
Operating a greenhouse costs around 1600 US-Dollars per year, which covers the needs of an entire family. A small amount of money with a big impact.
We are currently renting the greenhouses, but hope to be able to purchase land ourselves at some point so that we can have our own greenhouses permanently. However, this requires long-term, reliable financing.
