Good vibes - a Vibraphon for Freising

We would like to purchase a vibraphone, a musical instrument similar to the marimba, but with an extraordinary sound. It expands the tonal variety in the percussion ensemble, in the orchestra and in solo playing. This would give the Freising music school and the town band another special sound in their repertoire and the percussion students would be able to play melodies expressively. It certainly casts a spell over newcomers and introduces them to the world of music.
A vibraphone opens up opportunities: used in exciting film sequences, the characteristic, vibrating sound of the vibraphone creates moments of fear. Originally a jazz instrument, the vibraphone is now also used in many different ways in classical concerts.

For such ‘outsiders’ among musical instruments, we must become active together. As the Förderverein der Musikschule Freising e.V., we provide financial support for the purchase and/or subsidisation of instruments. It would be great to play the vibraphone at one of the autumn concerts. You can help too!
