About this project

G. Zinkeisen from Hilfe für Kinder in Kambodscha e.V. is responsible for this project
Angkor Thom Junior High School
Angkor Thom Junior High School offers around 300 children and young people a higher education that is goal-oriented, fun and designed to ensure a happy future worth living.

In addition to the official curriculum, our pupils have computer lessons and English courses to improve their career prospects. For mental balance and to promote creative skills, we offer art lessons in our “Special Art Class”.

To enable parents to send their children to secondary school, all our students receive breakfast and lunch consisting of rice, vegetables and a little meat or fish.

Boarding House
58 students whose families live far away or who have family problems live in the boarding house and are provided with everything they need for a good education and a happy life, just like in a large family.

Organic fruit and vegetable growing is particularly important to us so that our school can be self-sufficient in the future and so that our students receive a sound horticultural education that they can pass on to their families.

We have very committed teachers and hard-working pupils who are aware of their opportunities. As a result, our school has become one of the most successful in the Angkor-Thom district and is at the top of the state examinations.

What makes us very happy are the shining eyes of our children and young people, their joy in learning, their warmth and their gratitude.

In order to pass on some of what they have received to the community, many of the older students teach English, math and Khmer to children who are unable to attend elementary school in their free time.
