Whether people are healthy or ill depends not only on their individual behaviour and physical condition, but also on the social conditions in which they live. Poor people are more likely to be ill and live shorter lives. Inequality in income, housing, environment, working conditions and education, as well as racism and various forms of discrimination are social determinants of health.
Solimed's goal is to establish a social, interdisciplinary and solidary health centre that takes into account people's living conditions and addresses social circumstances.
Our next step:
We want to offer outreach health counselling in the Cologne district of Kalk for three years with three new jobs and have applied for funding.

But even if this is approved, we will have to find 22,000 € per year ourselves - for the first year until June 2025! Despite membership fees, solidarity evenings and individual donations, we cannot raise this amount on our own.
That's why we need your help!
Solidarity is nice, but what happens to your donation?
- If our application is successful, we will be able to secure the necessary part of the self-financing for a psychologist, a nurse and a social worker, and we will be able to start our counselling project this year. In cooperation with existing structures in Kalk, we want to offer low-threshold and simple health counselling.
- If our application is rejected, your donation will not have been in vain! The money will also be used to develop a sustainable counselling service, as well as administrative costs, workshops, lectures, and important district analyses.
