A strong earthquake shook parts of Southeast Asia on 28 March. The epicentre of the earthquake was near the city of Sagaing in Myanmar. Buildings collapsed as far away as Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, which is 1,000 kilometres away.

The disaster particularly affects people who are already suffering: More than a third of Myanmar's population relies on humanitarian aid. Severe flooding has recently hit the region, and the civil war in the country has intensified in recent months.

Through our local partners, we are distributing food to those directly affected.
Immediate assistance is especially important in emergencies like this. Because we have been supporting the people of Myanmar for more than 20 years, we are well connected and can provide aid quickly. To do this, we work closely with local village committees. They know the needs on the ground best.

We will remain at the side of the affected people and continue to support them with emergency aid such as water, cash assistance and hygiene products. This is only possible with your help – please donate now πŸ’š 🀝
