About this project
In the small, remote village Pengo on the edge of the Shimba Hills National Park in the south of Kenya we are building the "Sabrina Primary School" and the "Bwagamoyo Nursery School".
With the project "Healthy food for the children in Pengo" we offer the children a balanced nutrition on every school day - next to an adequate learning environment. Per child the monthly need of food amounts to only 4.00 Euros.
The food for the about 500 children consists of Uji (a kind of millet porridge) for breakfast - because many of them come to school with an empty stomach - and a healthy and balanced lunch with a lot of vegetables. The children are replete, have sufficient energy to live and stay healthy. On top of that, their families' financial burden is reduced.
From now on, the apprentices of the "Sabrina Youth Polytechnics" receive a warm lunch as well. At the moment there are 29 young women and men inbetween 16 and 25 years of age who are getting vocational education in agriculture, tailoring or masonry, repectively.
Please help us to manage this financial need and thus ensure the health of the children of Pengo furthermore. Since the start of the school-feeding-program (in the beginning of 2010) the children's state of health improved permanently and recognizably.
Next to the single needs that you can help to support with your donation, we are also very happy about every single sponsorship. With for example only 8.00 Euros, 2 children would have enough food for a whole month.
