"Deutschland summt! - Wir tun was für Bienen" is an initiative that has been drawing attention to wild and honey bees for over 10 years. We motivate a diverse range of people, from toddlers to company CEOs, to take action themselves:
- Planting (wild) bee-friendly perennials and shrubs
- Protecting and providing nesting opportunities
- Sharing the enthusiasm for bee diversity...
Over 30 cities and districts have now become partners in our "Deutschland summt!" circle. This makes us happy because everyone can do something to create living spaces in their surroundings. Are you buzzing along?
In addition to enthusiasm and organizational talent, our small, fine foundation's commitment also requires financial support and volunteer helpers. By making a donation, you support one of our numerous activities:
- Networking with city partners, including regular strategy meetings
- Participatory actions (Long Day of Urban Nature, Night of Museums, Open House Days, etc.)
- Environmental education measures (bee education kits, lectures, exhibitions, excursions, garden seminars)
- Training for green professions (learning platform)
- Germany is buzzing! Planting competition
- Joint establishment of wild bee showcase gardens
- Wild bee buffets
- Nature-friendly design of residential areas in and around Berlin, including tenant communication
- Information materials: from information brochures to guides for insect-friendly gardening to professional action guidelines
We also engage in projects that go beyond the topic of "insects" from time to time. Since February 2021, our employee Caroline Breidenbach has been working on the exhibition project "waterstories" – scenarios about crises and sell-offs.
