Emergent Berlin is a non-commercial / non-profit, 2-day event to inform, network, exchange, collaborate, celebrate and have fun with each other in the spirit of becoming active participants in the quest to make Berlin and Wedding a better place. Emergent Berlin focuses on local projects and finding ways to connect people who are already working for a more sustainable city with those who are interested participating in, collaborating with and supporting those initiatives.

This festival will be held on the Berlin in over 12 event spaces at Gerichtstr. 23 in Wedding. This interactive event will feature over 40 short (10 min) presentations and 10 (1/2 hour) workshops covering a broad spectrum of sustainable perspectives including personal, social, cultural, economic, ecologic and aesthetic.

Throughout the day people can also enjoy live music, games and participatory creative sessions outdoors on the Panke waterway or in many of the event spaces. Healthy meals made from rescued food and drinks will be provided all day by some of Berlin's sustainable food initiatives. In the evening we invite our guests to enjoy some short films and of course our 'party until sunrise' featuring 4 of Berlin's grooviest DJs. More details about this and last year's festival program and participants can be found at: http://www.emergentberlin.de/?lang=en

Here is a review of Emergent Berlin 2013 from Positive Magazine: http://www.positive-magazine.com/specials/positive-berlin/berlin-events-emergent-berlin-spreeacker-id22/

At last years event over 1000 people showed up to make it a magical day and night. This year we expect over 2000 people over the course of the entire event but we need your help to make it happen. Since this is a real grass-roots initiative we get no funding from any official institutions. Unfortunately, this year we just can't afford to personally fund the event because everything we have is tied up in our upcoming project to start building a long term public space for meaningful engagement in the form of an indoor tree house (das Baumhaus) in Wedding this fall.

More about the Baumhaus project: http://www.baumhausberlin.de/en/

With your help, we can raise enough to make this year's event even better than last year's and continue to connect and empower each other's ideas and motivations into actions that we all can benefit from!

    Thanks for your support,
