    About this project

    J. Kessler from ARISE Foundation Uganda is responsible for this project
We are excited to announce our ambitious project and ask for your support to our mission. ARISE Foundation Uganda - www.arisefo.org - a registered community based organisation will open up a primary school called Daystar Primary School in January 2015.

Our goal is to create a large and self-sustaining Children’s community learning center that addresses the needs of hundreds of disadvantaged children, orphans, poor or vulnerable children in Uganda. In Uganda chidren are orphaned when families are torn apart through poverty, through diseases/sickness, through crime and other unfortunate circumstances. Kids are the future of our world, taking care of them is our responsibility!

Our Children’s learning center will therefore serve different groups including:

Children who are abandoned by their parents at a young age to fend for themselves and consequently roam the streets of the larger cities. Our goal is to to provide education and take them away from the bad influences (drugs, violence, sex trafficking and gangs) in the slums and ensure formal education and vocational training/Life Skills.

HIV children victims. Orphaned by one or both parents, these kids usually live with different relatives, often grandparents who are not in a position to give them proper education. Uganda has an approximate population of 37,000,000. In 2009 over 1,200,000 children were orphaned by HIV/AIDS in Uganda, with the majority living in villages where there is no easy access to education.

Our philosophy is to give children the opportunity to achieve a life that is self-fulfilling, one that is lived with dignity, respect and honor. By creating a loving and nurturing center, we will instill the self-confidence that one needs to prosper and thrive. The teaching and guidance provided will ensure that the essential tools are garnered to enable each of our family members to be capable of caring for themselves.

Education is a very important tool in all aspects of life. This Center will provide Life Skills, educational and sports opportunities to all children in this center. Through structured education our children will be prepared to experience higher learning opportunities thus allowing a self-sustaining future. Ensuring success for themselves, their extended family and their country.

ARISE Foundation has been working with children since 2010. During our operations we encounter so many homeless and disadvantaged children. There are so many homeless and at risk children in our community Makindye and the surrounding areas especially Kampala City Center and the suburbs - slum areas.

We are currently looking for funds to put up structures to accomodate 200 children . The land is already rented and it will provide a perfect location to develop the Children’s Learning Center - Daystar Primary School. The center will be able to expand as the need arises.
