    About this project

    C. Milling from Shortwaveservice is responsible for this project
Radiobroadcasts on shortwave exists since more than 90 years. We would like to keep this traditional way of broadcasting alive - even in the digital age.
We think, that the shortwave has still an important role to play.

** What exactly is shortwave? **

Besides "FM", where you can hear your local or regional radiostations, you can hear radiostation from all over the world in the shortwave ("SW") band.
From our facilities in the german "Eifel"-region we broadcast several programs on shortwave. Due to physics our radiosignals are bounced back in the sky. Doing this,
they travel over hundreds of kilometers before getting back to earth, where they can be received.

** Why shortwave is still important **

even in europe, there are many places where you need a communication over shortwave. Many thing are on the internet, but if you are on holiday you will soon experience
how expensive it may be to use a foreign internetaccess to get the latest news. And if you are cut-off by the internet, like on the sea, shortwave is still a reliable
and easy way to receive information.

** What do we broadcast on shortwave? **

The programs that we transmit are music- and informational programs. On 4 frequencies (3985 kHz, 6005 kHz,7310 kHz and 9560 kHz) you can listen to us in many parts of europe.
You simply need a small transitor radio and, if neccessary, a piece of wire as antenna.

Thank you for helping us keeping a long broadcast tradition alive and reaching people who are rely on shortwave.
