    About this project

Dina T. from ? is responsible for this project
Trekking in Tsum Valley, Nepal, April 25, 2015 – authentic, beautiful nature and mountains of 8.000m height. At a height of 2.500m, I have decided to take a rest day to recharge my energy. An Australian family – Jennifer, Francis, Rani and Neve – are onsite as well. My friend Nicole and our guide Harry are on a day trek towards the base camp. It is a nice sunny morning in Tsum Valley and we are playing cards. Suddenly, the house started wobbling and the earth is shaking. Opposite at the mountain, houses break away and burn. Growl of thunder, mountain masses and falling rocks. We are running into the little barley field behind the house to be able to see falling rocks. Our lodge has been damaged, there are cracks in the outside wall. A second building part has collapsed. At that time, a porter has been in the room, resting. He couldn´t get out fast enough and the wall fell on his leg. We were all happy to see him walking out without major injuries. Then, absolute quietness. And fear about what happened to Nicole and Harry. Our joy was overwhelming, seeing them safely back in the evening, arriving in the Jhambala lodge. They were both on the trek, dodging falling rocks. Altogether w built a shelter on the ground in the open. Because of fear of aftershocks we have slept in there the following days.

Meanwhile we are safely back home in Germany and I don´t want to waste any time to support our Nepalese friends. With this fundraising we want to help immediately and concrete, and raise

    - 10.000€ to finance a new house for our guide Harry
    - 10.000€ finance a new house for our porter Janga
    - 10.000€ to rebuilt the Jhambala lodge in Tsum Valley (just opened 3 months ago) and also to rebuilt the local mountain school, which is the only one in the whole area

Please help. Please donate and share this link with others in your network. We will make sure personally that the contributions will be given to those in need – Harry, Janga and the owners of the Jhambala lodge.

If we have reached the donation amount of 30.000 € you can still do good. Our own foundation Diyi for Kids is unfortunately not yet legally acting. As soon as we reach this goal, we will continue to give further support.
