About this project
Moana Skambraks from Über den Tellerrand e.V. is responsible for this project
KITCHEN ON THE RUN promotes personal exchange between refugees from around the world and locals in Europe. Specifically, we are traveling with a mobile kitchen (built in a cargo container) from through Europe. Every day we offer 15-20 refugees and locals a space and the opportunity to come together in a cosy atmosphere to cook, share food and stories. Particularly the refugees will get the chance to take the role of the host for a day. Our project creates mutual acceptance through personal encounters, and points of contact. We take it literally when we say: "Mi casa es tu casa!"
From May 2017 on, we will continue our journey. This year we will stay in Germany and visit rural areas with the container.
