EinDollarBrille in Burkina Faso
In Burkina Faso, in West Africa, about 80% of the population live from agriculture - often in extreme poverty. In addition, there is the growing threat of terrorist attacks, which also makes it difficult for EinDollarBrille e.V. to access many regions. Nevertheless, our team around project leader Thierry Nassouri fights tirelessly for basic optical care for all Burkinabe. The result: by the end of 2022, we were able to provide more than 100,000 people with glasses and carry out more than 250,000 eye tests. In the process, we have created over 75 jobs in Burkina!
A strong team
Despite the difficult conditions, Burkina Faso is one of EinDollarBrille's most successful country projects. Our 23 shops are already able to reach about 40 percent of the total population: a big step towards nationwide optical care. The strong team spirit and the good prospects for internal professional development show success: many colleagues have been with us for several years.
Fast help in the countryside
People in rural areas usually cannot afford to travel to the city. That is why EineDollarBrille e.V. comes to the villages and organises eye camps on site. The new glasses can be fitted immediately after the eye test.

EinDollarBrille e.V. was founded in 2012. The aim of the association is to provide basic optical care for all people worldwide.
