Kindergarten for women's education centre

The "Casa del futuro" (House of the Future) in El Alto / La Paz, Bolivia is a meeting and training centre, focused on the needs of women. It is a place for women to learn skills and abilities necessary to strengthen their role in an extremely male-dominated society and to boost their self-confidence. It is also a place for women to bond and exchange.

Our courses, taught at the "House of the Future" have a wide range, depending on the needs of the women, such as, courses on dealing with intra-family violence, self-defense, computer courses, courses to obtain the driver's license or trainings how to write a CV.
Fundación Pueblo also enables meetings with women from political and social organisations. It is a chance for women from the countryside to actively participate in the political sphere or to communicate their needs to the political level.

We have gradually developed and equipped the common areas of the “House of the Future” as meeting and training space. For women arriving from the country side, there is also accommodation available in functionally equipped bedrooms. Our “House of the Future” in El Alto is becoming an important meeting place and training center for rural women.

Especially mothers with small children encounter difficulties due to their dependency on help from outside - as every mother around the world may know! To enable them to take part in the courses, a day care for their children was set up inside the house. The day care is a win-win! The children are actively encouraged to practice and learn new skills, sing songs, play games. At the same time, it allows the mothers to continue their own learning process in a relaxed environment without worrying about their children.

Now we need your help! So much is still missing in the day care: Books, games, colouring pencils, furniture, toys etc. Any contribution helps, so that the children find a welcoming and comfortable place to play and learn!
