Humanitarian aid for street children in Sanaa / Taiz (Yemen)

Before the war broke out in 2015, an estimated 20,000 children were living on the streets.  As a result of the war, the living conditions for the population have deteriorated dramatically and as a result the number of street children has increased significantly.  Many people are no longer able to take care of themselves and end up on the streets.  They lack clean water, food, medicine and protection from violence.  Most children are malnourished and suffer from various diseases.

   In order to illustrate the extent of the catastrophic living conditions in Yemen, the following information from international aid organizations is listed:

   20 million people are in urgent need of humanitarian aid, that is 70% of the population

   2.7 million people are fleeing, that is 10% of the population

   16 million people do not have access to clean water, sanitation and medical care, that is 60% of the population

   800,000 government employees have not received salaries for 10 months


   Children are the hardest hit by these catastrophic conditions.

   According to the WHO, 2.2 million children in Yemen are malnourished and in urgent need of help

   According to UNICEF, a child in Yemen dies every 10 minutes as a result of the catastrophic living conditions


   With your help, the association Kinder Yemens in Not e.V. will give these children a chance to survive by creating humanitarian living conditions.  The children are provided with accommodation and are provided with food and medical care.  The short-term goals of the association are to care for 20 children and to increase the number to 100 over the years.  Ideally, families can be found in Yemen who will take these children in.  These families are supported by the association Children Yemens in Need e.V.
