Every year, around eight million tons of plastic end up in the ocean. A large part is washed into the sea by rivers.
The Clean River Project is an environmental, art and educational project that campaigns for clean rivers and seas nationwide and has set itself the goal of reducing plastic pollution through education and active cleanups of waterways.
Through creative productions of the plastic waste collected while paddling, we attract public attention and promote general awareness of the issue. In addition, we organize school projects, give lectures and organize CleanUp events, where river sections are actively cleared of plastic waste with the help of volunteers.
Shake up, clean up, educate - for clean rivers and seas!
Annually, we collect about 50,000 liters of plastic waste from German waters and organize CleanUp events, photo art exhibitions and educational projects throughout the country. Everyone* can join in and help us protect nature.
