CorrelAid e.V. - Advancing data science for the civic society

Digitalisation offers great opportunities for our society, but also presents us with great challenges in its complexity. This is particularly evident in the topics of big data and data analysis. This does not primarily concern the large amount of data, but rather the new, powerful procedures for data analysis: procedures such as predictive modelling and machine learning, but also simple statistical evaluations offer huge potential for more efficient resource allocation, decision-making and target group analysis. This potential is already heavily used, especially in the industry. 
 
We see it as a problem that there is currently a centralisation of knowledge and data in the private sector. Public actors and especially civic society are left behind in this development, as resources and expertise are often lacking. 
 
CorrelAid supports social organisations to achieve their goals and increase their social impact through analysis and consulting projects. Following an inclusive, connected and innovative approach, we bring together dedicated data analysts and organisations with a social mission. In this way, we aim to democratise the potential of advanced data analytics and foster a generation of socially aware data analysts.
