    About this project

    S. Dünnwald from Förderverein Bayerischer Flüchtlingsrat e.V. is responsible for this project
There are approximately 5000 people in Bavaria who live in so called ANKER-camps.  These camps are special reception camps for newly arrived people as well as deportation camps for people who have a negative decision on their asylum claim. Despite of the proclaimed faster asylum procedure, people have to stay there for up to 24 month and longer. They receive social benefits mostly not in cash but in goods, such as cloth, a bed, direct provision with food in a canteen, tickets for the local public transport. They are not allowed to work or study, children can not go to normal schools outside the camp and education for adults or German clases are almost not existing. Volunteers are not welcome. People in these camps are very isolated and controlled (not protected) by security. They are not allowed to participate or integrate in the society. Their means of cash money are therefore very limited to pay for legal help. The access to independent and free legal aid or councelling is very restricted.
