The aim of the ONE TEAM Project Week 2019 is to provide children & youth in Rwanda with access to handball, skateboarding and street art. Participants will also be able to learn important life skills in the context of tournaments and events.

About this project
Benjamin Pahlich from ONE TEAM gemeinnützige UG is responsible for this project
ONE TEAM is a non-profit sports NGO from Frankfurt am Main. With our project week from 14.-20. October 2019 in Rwanda, we are enabling children & youth in Rwanda to play handball, skateboarding and street art. Social tournaments and events educate young people on health issues and learn important social skills.

The project week particularly aims at supporting young people from families affected by poverty. They not only have limited access to education and health care, but also to sports, arts and cultural events. However, these are important for young people to discover their own abilities, encounter role models and experience team spirit.
The project gives children and young people access to handball, skateboarding and street art. In the context of tournaments and workshops, they also receive important knowledge, among others. on HIV prevention. Joint street art actions by the Rwandan Kurema artists and the Frankfurt artist COR will spread important development messages. A special focus in all ONE TEAM projects is the promotion of girls and young women.

Many of the kids are already active in the local partner organizations Skate-Aid and Handball Gorillas. The organizations have been working locally for many years and are permanent network partners of ONE TEAM. Our honorary Managing Director will personally be on site to support the implementation of the activities and to deepen the cooperation with the Rwandan partners.

- Strengthening children and young people through sport and culture
- Sensitization of the population through publicly visible street art
- Investments in the equipment of the local partner organizations
- Networking Rwandan organizations with German partners
- Promotion of the German-Rwandan exchange
