About this project

The March of Life House in Caesarea, Israel has been a place of encounter and friendship since 2015 and has become a sign of hope for many Holocaust survivors in Israel. Every week, groups of Holocaust survivors and Israeli students come to visit and meet people from the March of Life movement from Germany and around the world. In this way, one of the survivors' greatest needs is met directly - loneliness and being left alone with the traumas - and the commission of the prophet Isaiah is fulfilled: "Comfort, comfort my people." Often, Holocaust survivors report that they usually don't like to talk about their stories of survival, but at the meetings they begin to tell of their wartime experiences.
The service at the March of Life House is conducted in cooperation with the Israeli organization Helping Hand Coalition.
The donations will be used for the following needs:
Meetings with Holocaust survivors
Each week, Holocaust survivors come to the March of Life House to spend a lovely lunch in fellowship. These are precious hours that often change a life forever.
The costs for the meetings are around 35 EUR per person and consist of meal (9 EUR pp.) and shuttle bus (26 EUR pp.).
The total monthly cost for a sum of 36 guests is approximately 1260 EUR.
Needs for a meeting with Holocaust survivors:
- Meeting with large groups (12 persons): 420 EUR
- Meetings with small groups (8 persons): 280 EUR
Operation of the house
The running costs for rent, food, house and garden maintenance etc. are very high in Israel and cannot always be fully covered by the income from regular donations and overnight stays. With your donation you help us to keep the house ready for Holocaust survivors and other guests. Due to the high frequency in the march of life house with up to three groups of visitors per week, it is necessary that furnishings are replaced indoors and outdoors.
