A touch of the Black Forest - News in September 2024

Dear donor,
In August, we received 105 euros for our work with Holocaust survivors. That is 8.3% of the monthly donation amount of 1260 euros. Two new permanent donors have joined us and are now supporting the project on a monthly basis. Thank you very much for that!

The provisional target of 500 euros/month, which will be achieved by permanent donors, is getting closer! I reported on this goal here a month ago. Join us and become a permanent donor!

A touch of the Black Forest at the March of Life House
On August 20, 9 Holocaust survivors from Or Akiva visited the March of Life House. They were welcomed by 4 volunteers from the Black Forest/Germany. 
For the volunteers from the Black Forest, it was a matter close to their hearts to practically prepare and carry out this meeting. Many tears flowed as we listened to each other: 

The Holocaust survivors spoke about how members of their families were killed by German soldiers during the Second World War, sometimes in mass shootings. The German volunteers were able to share about the guilt of their ancestors against the Jews and express how sorry they were for it. Reconciliation took place. 
Afterwards we had a joyful time with food, dancing and singing. The hit for the Holocaust survivors was a Black Forest cake😊
