Why not?
- Climate Change: In order to reach the Paris Climate goals, Germany needs to become climate netraly by 2040. Reaching this goal is impossible if we don't start to reduce the impact of individual mobility.
- Noise: More and faster traffic means more noise for all the people living along the planned highway. The protection measures stated in the law are not enough to protect people and nature.
- Loss of farmland: A planned cross-section of 28 m would destroy around 90 ha of prime farmland. In total, more than 100 ha will be lost to to that construction plan.
- Exploding Costs: Estimated costs were initially more than 250 million euro, currently the estimate is around 400 million euro. Experience shows these costs will most probably be double that estimate. In times of climate and Covid crises, the scarce resources must be allocated in a more intelligent way!
AN ALLGÄU-AUTOBAHN IS THE WRONG ANSWER TO THE CHALLENGES OF THE 21ST CENTURY!

There are many ways to improve infrastructure in the region without destroying the unique nature of the Allgäu:

There are many ways to improve infrastructure in the region without destroying the unique nature of the Allgäu:
- Electrification of the trainline Buchloe - Kempten
- New trainstops in villages along the track
- Road safety can be improved with simple and cheap measure like speedlimits and better surveillance. Smaller constructive measures can also be implemented.
We are preparing to go to court and therefore we would need money. In case we win the trial and get a refund of the lawyer cost, or we collect more money than necessary, we will use that money in alignment with our values and for the public good as described in our statutes.
